Did Curiosity Really Kill The Cat?

Although there are those who say “curiosity killed the cat,” I contend curiosity is actually what made the cat famous. Now, you may be wondering what this has to do with the way you represent your business, but I tell you with all heart (and more than a little experience), it has absolutely everything to do with it.

There’s Another Side Of The Story

To begin with, we can only know the cat was curious enough to get into a sticky situation because someone followed and documented that cat’s adventures clear through to the final outcome. It must be quite a captivating story, too, or the proverb itself wouldn’t continue to resonate as deeply and universally as it still does, since its first recorded use happened well over a century past.

A Change Of Perspective

There’s also perspective. Some might view the cat’s curiosity as the catalyst to its unfortunate demise. Then there are those of us who see it this way: if the cat hadn’t been curious, it would have lived a limited existence and died anyway. Instead, the cat got to enjoy a great life filled with exciting experiences thanks to its curiosity, and it went out doing something it loved.

To me, curiosity drives every story from all angles. It compels unpredictable action; sparks the desire to tell others about the ensuing experience; inspires the story that creates:

Perception – Reputation – Fame

What I’m trying to say is, the storyteller has the ultimate power of persuasion, and you need them to be curious. And it’s equally important to make sure they’re telling your story the way it should be told.

Words That Persuade

I know it requires insatiable curiosity to effectively express any brand, because you must first understand its nature at the very core. This is what I thrive on. Exploring and understanding the nature of your brand so I can help you influence the way it’s being perceived. Let’s visit more about the ways we can collaborate to captivate the right audience with a true story that builds loyalty and drives action.
